When I booked the Fjällräven Classic 2013 I remembered a quote that I read during my time in NZ: “
A tourist will tell you where he’s been, a traveler will tell you where he’s going” (unknown source). It usually isn’t me that knows a long time in advance where I will go for a next adventure. Ideas are usually sparked only a few months in advance, or even weeks before. This adventure, is different and needed a swift response. While archiving and reading a number of old outdoor magazines, I stumbled upon an article about the Fjällräven Classic. A hiking adventure in Swedish Lappland, following a section of the Kungsleden (i.e. the King’s trail). Participants have to hike a 110 km from Nikkaluokta to Abisko, while carrying everything they need on their backs. There are two points on the trail where you can stock up on food and fuel again, water can be drunk straight from the streams :). This sounded like a great adventure, so committed myself to it by registering for the Fjällräven Classic 2013. Really looking forward to this adventure in 2013, and I do plan to bring home a number of images that capture the atmosphere of the trail and the hikers.
